DALE A. SWIFT MAI
After college and a four-year stint in the Air Force in the late 1960s,
Dale began his career in real estate as a mortgage loan officer with a
savings and loan association in Roanoke, Virginia. After reviewing real
estate appraisals for mortgage loan purposes, he then joined a leading appraisal
firm in Roanoke and began his appraisal career. A few years later, he
relocated to his home state of North Carolina to continue appraising
real estate and in 1979, he joined
John McCracken & Associates, Inc. He earned his MAI designation in
1980.
For well over 30 years, Dale has been a mainstay of the commercial and
eminent domain appraisal staff of JMA. In the early years, he traveled
the United States appraising large institutional properties including
apartment complexes, business parks, shopping centers, and individual
office buildings. In those days, clients were primarily syndicators,
insurance companies, and pension funds. Since the late 1990s, Dale's
concentration has shifted entirely to eminent domain appraisals for
highway and electrical power line acquisitions.
